kunstenaarsinitiatief beyoncé brings elements of their medieval castle from Amsterdam to Sorbus. The Crusade is an ode to romance as well as historical entertainment for the history loving. It tries to deal with notions of the past and expectations of the future.

The key element they take across the sea are the five tapestries that depict an autobiographical epic; the members of k.i. beyoncé, each with their steady partner, in sexual poses. As a mix of medieval and modern affairs of the heart, these tapestries will warm and decorate Sorbus. Returning to the fundament of all art: love.

kunstenaarsinitiatief beyoncé is a group that developed a way of being in the art world. It has been a project space in Amsterdam and is now a collective that makes exhibitions and performances.

NIGHT OF THE EGGS – CHICKEN TONIGHT

On the Night Of the Arts, Thursday 20th of August 2015, Sorbus Gallery will be taken over by Finnish landrace chickens. This interspecies performance event is a part of the The Crusade, an exhibition by an Amsterdam artist group kunstenaarsinitiatief beyoncé.

The chickens will guard the gallery from 6 pm, and during this time the exhibition will be visible through the window. At midnight, the chickens will go to sleep in nightlight.

Taiteilijaryhmä kunstenaarsinitiatief beyoncé tuo osan keskiaikaisesta linnastaan Amsterdamista Sorbukseen. Tämä ristiretki on oodi romanssille sekä historiallista viihdettä historiaa rakastaville. Näyttely käsittelee mielikuvia menneestä ja odotuksia tulevasta.

Tärkein Sorbukseen tuotavista elementeistä ovat viisi gobeliinia, jotka kuvaavat omaelämänkerralista eeposta: kukin k.i. beyoncén jäsenistä yhdessä kumppaninsa kanssa, rakkauden asennoissa. Tämä keskiajan ja nykypäivän sydämenasioiden sekoitus lämmittää ja koristaa Sorbusta kuvakudosten muodossa – palaten kaiken taiteen perustaan: rakkauteen.

Taiteiden yönä, torstaina 20. elokuuta 2015, Sorbus-gallerian valtaavat pohjoishelsinkiläiset maatiaiskanat. Tämä lajien välinen esitystapahtuma nivoutuu osaksi amsterdamilaisen kunstenaarsinitiatief beyoncé -taiteilijaryhmän The Crusade -taidenäyttelyä.

Kanat vartioivat galleriaa iltakuudesta lähtien, ja tänä aikana näyttely on nähtävillä ikkunasta. Puolilta öin kanat käyvät levolle yövalaistuksessa.
